Easy-LTSP getting in shape
by The_Code on Jul.10, 2008, under LTSP-GUI
Since my last post it has been a while!
But work continued. Easy-LTSP now has the first base functionality to edit and create lts.conf!
You can use predefined tasks, like Display, to set resolution and color depth, or you can add variables in advanced view!
Take a look at my screenshot Page for a look at the current state! (New binaries are coming soon)
But I need your help now:
Please, tell me any further tasks that might be useful to have in Easy-LTSP! We currently have:
- Mouse
- Keyboard
- Display
- XServer
- Autologin
- SWAP
- Sound
- Localdevices
- Printer
So if you have any further tasks, please tell me!
Looking forward for your comments!

Ich hätte nichts dagegen, wenn Sie die Scanner-Installation vereinfachen würden. In der letzten Woche habe ich es nicht rechtzeitig bis zum Unterricht geschafft, meinen Scanner einzurichten.

Do you know Edubuntu?
It has quite a nice program which displays the running ltsp clients and allows you to see their screen, execute a program on their desktop, shutdown the system and so on.
Things like locking the screen would also be very useful, especially in schools.
Maybe easy-ltsp could also implement some of these tasks?
By the way I already like easy-ltsp because it’s nice to make ltsp be easy to use even for normal people (like teachers). Thanks for your work!

Hi,
first thanks. Yes i know Edubuntu. I had a look at this tool, we will be working on something like that but first thing was making configuration of lts.conf easier, but stay tuned!
