800 DVDs left in Chemnitz :-)
by The_Code on Mar.15, 2010, under Events, openSUSE
This weekend, as mentioned in my previous post, I visited the Chemnitzer Linux Days to run the openSUSE booth! It was my first visit to Chemnitzer Linux Days and I really have to say I was impressed, not only by the amount of visitors but also by the organization, everything worked flawlessly, this also had a major downside the catering was very good
Of course our booth was also running flawlessly because of the help from Petr, from the openSUSE Boosters team, and Kai-Uwe, he is developing color management applications, a big thank you to both of you for your support.
So what was happening with openSUSE at CLT? First of all I can announce one impressive number: 800 DVDs ! We distributed 800 DVDs and we forced nobody to take one
This gives a good impression on how much people were there and I have to thank Henne for more or less forcing me to take 400 more to Chemnitz, without them we would have run out of DVDs on the first day
Besides all the DVDs we distributed, we also had a lot of very interesting discussions and received a lot of good feedback for openSUSE 11.2. An impressive fact that got my attention was the big amount of openSUSE installation that could be found, not only the two we had at our booth but also at other booths!
So I really enjoyed the trip to Chemnitz and I am looking forward to going there next year!
Up to the next event!

As this blog is more and more converting into a “meet me at …” blog, I want to keep this tradition.
On next weekend I will be present at Chemnitzer Linux-Tage running the openSUSE booth there, so if you don’t know what todo next weekend and you are in the Chemnitz area stop by and visit Chemnitzer Linux-Tage, of course stop by at the openSUSE booth
Of course there are also a number of interesting talks over there, so it is really worth a visit.

Once again it’s time for a new conference! Next weekend the first OpenRheinRuhr will take place in Bottrop and of course openSUSE will be present with a booth.
I am also proud to announce two talks at OpenRheinRuhr given by openSUSE Ambassadors, Thomas Groß will be talking about administration of a XEN iSCSI HA-Cluster on Sunday and i will give a talk about our great upcoming release openSUSE 11.2 on Saturday.
Also we will have our booth maned on Saturday and Sunday, so if you have some spare time next weekend and are in the Bottrop area, drop by and visit us!
And of course don’t forget to check out our neighboring projects, the booth next to us will be the invis server project, an openSUSE based small business server solution, and openSUSE VorKon, a German preconfigured openSUSE with some custom software, will also have a booth next to us. So drop by and check it out!
